Sunnyvale, CA - Apr. 21, 2009 - Boinx Software is using the FireNEX-CAT5-S400™ to extend a camera in their demo of their BoinxTV software.
Oliver Breidenbach, the founder of Boinx Software, is excited that the Cat5 repeater can extend 1394 cameras up to 85m and help them overcome the 4.5m distance limit for FireWire. This is at full 400Mbps (S400). The FireNEX-CAT5-S400™ has been tested with a wide variety of camcorders and devices, and has worked flawlessly.
This is a second time that Boinx showcases Newnex FireNEX-CAT5-S400™ at their exhibition. The first time was in Macworld 2009.
