The FireNEX-CAT5-S800™ is capable of sending IEEE1394 signals across a regular Cat5/5e/6 cable at a data rate of 800 Mbps up to 100 meters in length! The FireNEX-CAT5-S800™ is contained within a small box slightly larger than a deck of cards, which makes it unobtrusive and compact, allowing you to place it on a desktop already crowded with other things.
The real power is in its connection through a regular Cat5/5e/6 cable, which has been widely used in the Ethernet world.The wide-spread use of Cat5 cables allows for a reliable, cost-effective medium for long distance IEEE1394b applications. Setting up the FireNEX-CAT5-S800™ is quite simple. It takes only minutes to setup, and there is no configuration necessary, like all IEEE1394 compliant hardware. The FireNEX-CAT5-S800™can send 1394b signals at 800mbps up to 100 meters in length.
The FireNEX-CAT5-S800™is designed for ease of use without sacrificing industrial level reliability. The FireNEX-CAT5-S800™ requires no external power source, powered solely by IEEE1394 bus power. This allows for remote controlling in hazardous environments. However, a DC jack is included if bus power is unwanted or unneccessary. Industrial locking screws for each IEEE1394b port insures a strong, secure connection.
A FireNEX-CAT5-S800™ SET includes two FireNEX-CAT5-S800™ repeaters, and a manual. A DC power jack lets you connect an optional power supply, such as the FIRENEX™-POWER. Whenever you purchase 2 FireNEX™ repeaters we consider it a set. Cat5/5e/6 cable and FireWire/IEEE1394b cables are not included. FireNEX-CAT5-S800™ comes with one-year manufacturer warranty.
