Machine Vision cameras are for industrial applications such as quality assurance of semiconductor fabrication in an assembly line. Machine Vision cameras are programmed to perform tasks such as scanning barcodes, counting items, edge detection, and searching surfaces for defects. These industrial cameras run at higher frame rates and can capture images of fast-moving objects without blurring. Machine Vision cameras can use IEEE1394 or GigE to transfer data between the camera and host. Due to the constant camera movement and cable bending, Machine Vision cables are typically high flex cables with locking or latching connectors.
